Wordpress is the most popular Contemt Management System on our network.

WordPress regularly releases updates to add new features as well as patch security issues. You can see the latest WordPress releases here:  https://wordpress.org/news/category/releases/

It's VERY important you keep your WordPress Core Version, Plugins and Themes up to date.  On Sunday 21 May 2017 we're running a WordPress version finder script across our Shared Hosting Fleet and between Monday 22 May and Friday 26 May we will have a number of staff reaching out to those clients whose WordPress versions are out of date.  Please do not ignore this email we send you as it's very important.

Out of date WordPress scripts do cause problems for ALL users on shared hosting and it's important all scripts are kept up to date for the mutual benefit of all clients on our Shared Hosting Platform.  Here's a recent example:  On Friday 19 May 2017 Spamhaus alerted us that a shared server IP was on a blacklist due to a website on our network hosting a Phishing site linking to a fake bank login page.  When we looked into the issue the client was using a FOUR YEAR out of date WordPress Version.  Taking a look at the releases page above you can see a large number of updates have security fixes - a four year WordPress install is therefore highly vulnerable to malware.

Some hosts auto update scripts on vulnerable websites.  We don't want to go down that road just yet until we've had the chance to work personally with affected clients as auto updates (especially from older versions) will likely break some fuinctionality on your websites.  Our team are very proficient in WordPress and can advise on updates so please talk to us.  Our WordPress team work regular UK Office Hours.

We do sell a WordPress Management Product and we're currently offering 25% recurring discount off any new signups for this product.  We'll keep your WordPress up to date for a low monthly (or annual) fee.  Reach out to our sales team during UK Office Hours if you want to add this product.
