Server 7 Latency Issue

An Update

This issue is now resolved.  We discovered a compromised OSCommerce Script on an account.  We have had to suspend that one hosting account on this server.  2.3 million data packets were being sent over a short period of time in an outbound ddos attack originating from this OSCommerce install on Server 7.

We need to state that OSCommerce has not been in development for a few years now, there have been no security patches for it for a long time and it is not a secure script at all.  We would handle on average 6 tickets per week with compromised OSCommerce installs.  Clients need to consider not using this script and we will be discussing banning it on all shared and reseller servers.   it will be removed from Softaculous as soon as we can get it removed from all servers.

Anyone with questions about this please open a support ticket.

=================================================

Server 7 is currently experiencing a severe latency issue.  This is NOT RELATED to yesterday's outages.

I am currently looking at the switch and I can see a full 100mbps of throughout at the moment.

We are looking to see what account on this server is causing the issue and will have it sorted soon.  Unfortunately this is a disadvantage of shared hosting - the actions of one users has an impact on others.

We will have this resolved soon
