Weebly is a Drag and Drop Website Building Product and BWF are partners with Weebly in the 'Weebly Cloud for Hosts' programme.  All Big Wet Fish Shared Hosting Clients get a free Weebly 3 Page Website inluded with their hosting plan.

You may have read today in the news that 43 million Weebly accounts were compromised.  The way Weebly works  on their 'Cloud for Hosts' platform is you do not actually have a Weebly Password and you access Weebly using single sign on from your WHMCS client area at Big Wet Fish.  Weebly therefore do not store any personal information about Big Wet Fish clients.  Weebly have assured us that you are therefore not affected by this breach.  Big Wet Fish have taken steps upon Weebly's advice to change all our passwords for our Weebly Admin accounts.

The full text of the information we received from Weebly is pasted below.

========================================================

Hello,

As the VP of Business Development at Weebly I wanted to personally reach out and let you know of a recent security incident on the platform. We recently became aware that an unauthorized party obtained email addresses and/or usernames, IP addresses, and encrypted passwords (bcrypt hashed) for a large number of customers. At this point we do not have evidence that any customer or partner website was improperly accessed.

Because your users access Weebly via a secure, single sign-on system, and they do not have Weebly passwords, we believe their account and sites are fully secure. However, as a precaution, we recommend that you reset passwords for all of your Team Member Admins and Staff User accounts.

The security and trust of our partners is extremely important to us. Weebly’s security team is taking steps to further enhance our network security to protect the accounts on our platform.

Our Help Center article answers some basic FAQ’s you might have, but as always, don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,
Nick Dellis
VP of Business Development
Weebly
