We have just received notification from our Gosport Data Centre that they need to perform maintenance on all routers. We do not yet know why this work cannot be scheduled for overnight but we are seeing servers going down and then coming back within 10 minutes. We have asked for urgent clarification on what work is being completed but the outage for each rack appears to be less than 10 minutes.
As it stands the only information we have is an email recently received that is pasted below in its entireity:
Dear BWF Hosting Ltd
On the advise of our vendors raising an urgent upgrade recommendation, we will be applying updates to our core routers in the Gosport datacentre today.
Please expect disruption as these upgrades are applied to the routers.
We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause but have been assured this upgrade is important to apply as soon as possible.
