Domain Renewal Group: Advice to Clients

Hello

We have been contacted by three clients in the past 24 hours who have received letters from the 'Domain Renewal Group' informing them that their domain name was due to expire soon and inviting them to pay a lot more than we charge to renew their domain name.

Our advice to you is to ignore this letter if you receive it.

We charge £9.49 per year for a standard .com, .net or .org domain name and this is all you will need to pay to renew your domain name with us.  Whilst I have not seen this letter my understanding is if you send money off to this company the only way they can renew your domain name is if they transfer the domain name away from us to them.  I am sure they are a reputable company but compared to our pricing they do appear to significantly overcharge based on what these clients have told us.

Every domain name that is registered is added to the public 'Who Is' database.  Visit website such as www.dnsstuff.com or  www.domaintools.com and do a who is search on your domain name and you can see personal details listed.  With .com, .net and .org domain names the registrar partner we use allows you to add what is called 'Domain Privacy' to your domain for a small fee of £3.00 per year.  This will hide your name and address from the who is database.  If you wish to add that feature on just open a support ticket by completing the contact form on our website or email [email protected]

As always if you have any questions just ask.
